Summer 2025 on the Costa Brava: a dreamlike stage with the best music

If there's one thing that drives us crazy about summer on the Costa Brava, it's not just the sun or those breathtaking coves. It's the music. That feeling that, when night falls, any corner can turn into a magical stage. And when I say magical, I'm falling short.

This 2025, things are looking very promising. Because something incredible happens here: in the same summer you can be listening to a legend like Tom Jones in a botanical garden facing the sea and, a few days later, find yourself on a beach, barefoot, enjoying habaneras with a good "cremat" in hand. Sounds good, right? Well, keep reading.

The soundtrack of our nights: from tradition to world pop

Here on the Costa Brava, summer is for everyone. For those seeking that connection with the authentic and for those who don't want to miss the artist of the moment. Everyone is here, and that's why all the concerts that matter are here too.

Our most special night: Habaneras and the taste of the sea

If you want to live an experience that will stay with you forever, you have to go to a "cantada de habaneras" (habaneras singing). Forget everything you've seen. My favorite, and that of thousands of people, is the one in Calella de Palafrugell (always the first Saturday of July, write it down!). Picture the scene: the Port Bo beach packed with people and boats, the murmur of the waves and those sailors' songs that give you goosebumps. It's history, it's emotion, it's pure Costa Brava.

And when you think the night can't get any better, the "cremat" appears. That coffee with burnt rum that warms your body and soul. One of those nights you don't forget, I assure you.

Let's turn up the volume! The festivals that are rocking it in 2025

But hey, it's not all tradition. The Costa Brava shows its most glamorous side and becomes a mandatory stop on the most important world tours. If you like live music, you have paradise here:

• Cap Roig Festival: For us, it's the jewel in the crown. In the gardens of Calella de Palafrugell, with the sea in the background... the place itself is a spectacle. And the 2025 lineup is insane. We're talking about people like Michael Bublé, Tom Jones, or James Blunt. Almost nothing. But also the phenomenon of Sebastián Yatra and the best of the national and Catalan scene. A piece of advice: tickets sell out fast, so don't fall asleep!

• Porta Ferrada Festival: The dean, the one that started it all in Sant Feliu de Guíxols. There's a bit of everything here: great music, theater, dance... The program always surprises and fills the town with an incredible atmosphere all summer long.

• Castell de Peralada Festival: This is another level. Imagine a night of opera or a concert by an incredible voice in the gardens of a medieval castle. It's pure elegance, a super special experience.

• As a special mention, we recommend the festival in our town of Calonge, F'Estiu, which features very talented Catalan artists.

And the list goes on... the Sons del Món in Roses (concerts and Empordà wine, great plan), the Torroella de Montgrí Festival for the most exquisite ears, or the PortalBlau in L'Escala, with concerts in such amazing places as the ruins of Empúries.
